YADDO RESIDENCY
SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY
DEADLINE: 8/1/2025
We offer residencies to professional creative artists from all nations and backgrounds working in one or more of the following disciplines: choreography, film, literature, musical composition, painting, performance, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and video. Artists apply individually. Peer review is the keystone of our selection process, with different panelists each season. Residencies last from two weeks to two months and include room, board and a studio.
All artists whose work falls within the five disciplines we serve are encouraged to apply. Generally, those who qualify for Yaddo residencies are either working at the professional level in their fields or are emerging artists whose work shows great professional promise. An abiding principle at Yaddo is that applications for residency are judged solely on the quality of the work. Yaddo places no publication, exhibition or performance requirements on artists in residence.
Not only is Yaddo an equal opportunity employer—we will not discriminate against any individual, employee, or application for residency based on race, color, marital status, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender, national origin, disability, or any other legally protected status recognized by federal, state, or local law—we strongly encourage applicants from backgrounds underrepresented in arts and culture to apply.

TROY, NY
DEADLINE: 8/1/2025
GRANT: $500
The Elizabeth Murray Artist Residency (EMAR) program by Collar Works is designed to provide emerging, underrepresented, and established artists an immersive, supportive, productive, and communal atmosphere for art-making and dialogue on a bucolic 77-acre farm in Granville, NY.
The summer residency offers 2-week residencies for individual artists and 1-week residencies for families. In 2017, the Murray-Holman family partnered with Collar Works to design a summer residency program for visual artists, with unique opportunities for individuals and families.
Dedicated to supporting the legacy of Elizabeth Murray, Collar Works believes there is a kindred connection between its mission and what Murray’s story symbolizes to emerging artists, to those who are artists as well as parents, and to individuals who overcome adversity to achieve their vision. EMAR creates opportunities for artists to take risks and develop new contemporary works across many art forms, primarily visual and literary arts, while engaging in meaningful dialogue with fellow residents and arts professionals.
Our goal is to create a residency program that addresses the critical needs of emerging and underrepresented artists, as well as artists with children, while offering a program that reflects the rich cultural environment of today through an active commitment to diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion. Since its inception, the Elizabeth Murray Artist Residency has been committed to creating an environment that stands out as a safe space for creative risk-taking, personal growth, and respite.

RISVEGLI A STAVOLI
MOGGIO UNDINESE, ITALY
DEADLINE: 8/7/2025
GRANT: € 5,000
The project aims to revitalize the village through a multi-year process, focusing on the concept of reawakening, the underlying theme of the entire initiative. This concept embraces two perspectives: on the one hand, it represents a rebirth of the area and the village itself; on the other, it connects to the idea of permanence and the activation of a new and lateral perspective on that same territory, explored from new and revitalizing perspectives. The artistic residencies will allow artists to immerse themselves in this isolated place without distractions, becoming its inhabitants and custodians for a few days, living outside of time and working in a state of inspirational isolation.
The first season focused on the performing arts (with a particular focus on dance and theatre) and saw the participation of performers Carlos Aller and Cecilia Bartolino (with the show A-way home ), and Omar Giorgio Makhloufi (with the show A pieni pollici ).
The second season focused on land art , where artists Jacopo Sandrin and Rodolfo Liprandi were selected to create works that integrate and interact with the surrounding space. The works are still visible in Stavoli.
For this third season, we will focus on the visual arts , encouraging participants to create immersive experiences that play with visual perception. These works should be designed to interact with the environment, creating a unique dialogue between art, nature, and the viewer. The wild, isolated mountain environment of Stavoli becomes a central element in the inspiration and creation of the artworks. Artists could draw inspiration from the morphology of the landscape and the village, local traditions, the history of the village, and the unique natural features that surround it, allowing the audience to discover new perspectives on the world around them.

NARVA ARTIST RESIDENCY - FINNO-URGIC CREATIVE RESIDENCY
NARVA, ESTONIA
DEADLINE: 8/10/2025
GRANT: €800 + CREATIVE SCHOLARSHIP + TRAVEL REFUND
In 2025, the city of Narva will officially be the Finno-Ugric Capital of Culture. This year’s extensive program will feature many events dedicated to Finno-Ugric peoples, which will help preserve these cultures and keep them in the consciousness of both the people of Narva and others. The selected artist is expected to create a work inspired by Finno-Ugric cultures, which will enrich the program of the Capital of Culture.
Art is a powerful tool for creating dialogues and strengthening cultural identity. It is important to highlight and introduce the cultures of small peoples whose identities have been threatened by Russian actions. Many Finno-Ugric people living abroad are losing touch with their identity, and therefore further identification and discovery are particularly important.
We expect from the artist-in-residence a unique contemporary art project that introduces Finno-Ugric culture in a new and engaging form; a willingness to involve the local community and introduce and present their work at a public event; and participation in the residency during the specified period from October 16 to December 8. We offer the resident free accommodation and workspace at the Narva Art Residency, support in implementing the project and communicating with the local community. The selected applicant will receive an 800€ creative scholarship, 700€ for production costs and 200€ to cover travel expenses.

PIONEER WORKS RESIDENCY
BROOKLYN, NY
DEADLINE: 8/31/2025
GRANT: $2,500
Even prior to creating a formalized program, residencies have been a cornerstone of our mission. Before adopting the name Pioneer Works, our founding team proposed the "Museum of the Working Artist". While the name didn’t stick—the ethos did. We are deeply committed to providing emerging artists, musicians, and technologists with a space to work, tools to create, and a platform to exchange ideas.
Each September, we select residents through an open call. Aided by a jury of experts and Alumni Residents, Pioneer Works welcomes residents who work outside existing models and “norms” of their field and will benefit from our unique facilities and culture. As such, Pioneer Works shifts and evolves to reflect the interests and work of each new cohort of residents, from public education offerings to Second Sundays, a monthly forum of artistic experimentation through activations, open studios, and performance.
All residents that complete the program join our ever-growing alumni network and are tapped for future opportunities like teaching, partnerships, and other public programs.
