THE PRAIRIE RONDE ARTIS RESIDENCY (SPRING SESSION)
VICKSBURG, MI

Prairie Ronde is hosted by The Mill at Vicksburg, a redevelopment project of the former Lee Paper Company mill, in the historic village of Vicksburg, Michigan.

We provide artists from a range of disciplines a 5 – 6 week residency with the goal of engaging with The Mill and its surrounding 80 acres of property.


Prairie Ronde is a process-based residency. Our aim is for independently driven artists to explore and grow their craft while creatively engaging with the space that we have to offer. While we are process-based, we ask that artists donate a piece of work produced during their time at the residency to our permanent collection.

BERNHEIM FOREST & ARBORETUM – ARTIST IN RESIDENCE PROGRAM
CLERMONT, KY
DEADLINE: 12/1/2025
GRANT: $2,500
 

Established in 1980, this internationally renowned program has awarded visual artists of all mediums, the opportunities to live and create works inspired by Bernheim’s wondrous natural environment. The work created through this program connects visitors to new and exciting experiences that spark curiosity and ignite wonder while expressing the artistic side of Bernheim. 


Up to 4 artists are selected for residencies at Bernheim annually. One residency is always dedicated to an artist currently living in Kentucky or nearby counties in Southern Indiana, and one residency is dedicated to an artist whose work addresses environmental issues and the climate crisis. 


Artists are encouraged to explore ideas that reinforce Bernheim’s mission of connecting people with nature and to use their residency to take risks, experiment, and explore new avenues in their own work.

 

JAN VAN EYCK ACADEMIE RESIDENCY
MAASTRICHT, NETHERLANDS
DEADLINE: 12/4/2025
GRANT: € 1,500 per month + €2,000 material budget

 

Artists and designers coming from all fields, architects, and other artistic researchers, curators, (literary) writers, and critical thinkers, including duos and collectives, are invited to apply for the residency program taking place in 2027 at the Jan van Eyck Academie.

 

Each selected participant receives the time and space to expand their artistic practice with the expert support of our advisers, the curator/resident liaison, the departments of Nature Research and Education & Development, as well as the library and the Jan van Eyck labs – Photography & Audiovisual, Material Matters, Food, Printing & Publishing, and Future Materials.

 

The Jan van Eyck is open to a wide array of disciplines and approaches, ranging from material-based to research-driven practices, addressing both urgent global issues and more personal inquiries. What the Jan van Eyck participants share is an inquisitive and considerate attitude toward the other and the world, their work testifies to an art practice that is investigative and committed. Participants not only work in their individual trajectories but also develop themselves in relation to their peers. During the residency, they share their stories, curiosities, practices, have an opportunity to learn from and support each other, collaborate, and experiment across disciplines. Furthermore, participants can get actively involved in institutional (public) programmes where speculative concepts are tested and the pressing socio-environmental challenges of today are debated. 

 

 

MUSEUM ON BLUE MOUNTAIN LAKE – ADIRONDACK EXPERINCE RESIDENCY
BLUE MOUNTAIN LAKE, NY
DEADLINE: 12/12/2025
GRANT: $5,000

 

ADKX will offer four artists a one-month residency, scheduled consecutively in June, July, August, and September. During the residency, the artist will focus on creating their own body of work within the public areas of the museum grounds at least three days per week. The intention of the time during public hours is for artists to spend time pursuing their own creative works, inspired by the natural areas that comprise and surround the museum’s campus as well as key objects and stories within the collection.


BENEFITS:

  1. $5000 stipend for the duration of the residency and $500 travel allowance. Artists are expected to provide their own materials, with the exception of those used for the Art Lab activity.

  2. On-site housing (no cost).

3.  The artist will offer the museum one work produced through the residency as a first option purchase at a fair market price. The museum may decline to purchase any works at its sole discretion.


ARTS AT CERN - COLLIDE STOCKHOLM
GENEVA & STOCKHOLM

GRANT: 15,000 CHF (ROUGHLY $18K)

Artists and collectives from any country are invited to submit a proposal for a fully-funded, two-month residency split between CERN and the Nobel Prize Museum Collide is an annual residency programme for artists with a distinct interest in science and technology, who have a strong motivation to engage in dialogue with scientists and engineers. The selected artist or collective will immerse themselves in the CERN community in Geneva, fostering meaningful exchanges with scientists, engineers, and staff. This will be followed by a stay at the Nobel Prize Museum in Stockholm to expand their reflections.


CERN and the Nobel Prize share the commitment to advancing knowledge and recognising scientific breakthroughs, which is reflected in the several Nobel Prizes in Physics closely linked to CERN’s work. Building on this shared legacy, Collide Stockholm supports artistic research that engages with fundamental science and advanced technologies.


Artists from any country are invited to submit an application proposing a project that combines artistic research and production of a new work. The proposal should outline a research period in both locations and a posterior phase to define and produce a new artwork with the support of both curatorial teams in Geneva and Stockholm.


Arts at CERN and the Nobel Prize Museum invite artists to reflect on the impact of science and research in contemporary culture and society. Proposals are encouraged that consider the role of advanced technologies and new scientific paradigms as key forces shaping our world today.



OPEN AIR

MULTIPLE LOCATIONS MONTANA

Open AIR is best known for its unique place-based Artist-in-Residence program that connects artists from all disciplines and origins, with culturally, historically, and ecologically significant locations through collaborative partnerships in Montana.

The Open AIR Residency is a wonderful opportunity for artists to take critical time and space to develop their practice in a supported environment. Artists-in-Residence (AIRs) will have opportunities to engage in professional development, including exhibitions and public engagement. AIRs will additionally have the opportunity to learn from and develop connections with other artists, meet new community members, and learn about unique aspects of the history, ecology, and culture of this region.

SCUOLA PICCOLA ZATTERE
VENICE, ITALY

Scuola Piccola Zattere is accepting applications for the selection of one participant in the thematic fellowship program, which will take place during its second season, entitled Dance Around the Rule . The aim of the call is to select one fellow who will be able to carry out their artistic and/or research activities for three months , from May 11th to July 31st, 2026 , at Scuola Piccola Zattere. This international fellowship is an opportunity specifically designed for artists and cultural professionals, curators, researchers, architects, choreographers, performers, and writers, who work outside the Venetian territory, both in Italy and abroad. This opportunity allows them to focus on their research and ongoing projects, connecting with the School's artistic community, and experiencing the rich cultural offerings of the city of Venice.

 

FURMAN UNIVERSITY – TRUE INSPIRATION AIR
GREENVILLE, SC

GRANT: $6,000 + $500
 

The Department of Art at Furman University invites applications for the Fall 2026 True Inspiration.

Artist-in-Residence. This is the second True Inspiration Artist-in-Residence opportunity of the

2026 season. The program awards an eight-to-sixteen-week residency on Furman’s campus in

Greenville, SC to a practicing artist or designer to continue the development of ongoing studio

projects and/or embark upon new creative endeavors. The Artist-in-Residence receives a $6,000

stipend, a private studio in the Roe Art Building, institutional affiliation with Furman University,

and a solo exhibition in the Department of Art’s Thompson Art Gallery. The ideal resident will have a practice that complements and expands upon the Department’s concentrations in drawing,

painting, photography, ceramics, graphic design, sculpture, printmaking, and art history. This

resident’s practice will also demonstrate a capacity for interdisciplinary dialogue and seek to

engage both Furman’s academic community and the broader regional public.
