ABOUT
Artists in Res is a digital nonprofit platform committed to supporting and amplifying the work of artists who participate in the global artist residency network—an essential but often overlooked part of the contemporary art world.

We recognize that while residencies offer time, space, creative exploration and nurturing , many artists lack visibility and support once those programs end.

Artist in Res believes the artists moving through the residency network are vital to the pulse of contemporary culture.
At the heart of our work is a growing database of residency alumni from programs like MacDowell, Studio Harlem Museum, Anderson Ranch Art Center, Sharpe -Walentas Studio Program, Artpace, Whitney ISP, Woodstock Center for Photography, Headlands Center for the Arts, Joan Mitchell Center and others. This database to informs our online publications and foster long-term access to the artists' work. By providing continued visibility, Artists in Res ensures that the creative labor nurtured in residencies can be researched, seen, and talked about.
